Crazy crazy week.  Definitely got over 40 hours, but I am not complaining!  We got a large contract that we have been working on like mad cows for the past month.  With this new contract came some fun news for me so I am floating on cloud nine today.

While I am floating up here, I decided to share with you some of my favorite trinkets.

#1(bottom right corner) I found these amazing nail colors at Gap.  I was pretty excited, cheap and cheerful, how can you go wrong?

#2 (middle) Taylor gave me this BCBGmaxazria watch for Christmas.  I melted when I opened it.  I have a hard time wearing it because I don't want to ruin it!  The last watch I owned had tweety bird as the hands and bugs bunny in the middle.  My how I have grown.

But I shouldn't speak too soon, #3 (top left) is a whistle necklace.  I found this beauty for $2.80 at forever 21 and fell in love.. then I realized it actually whistles!  Best two dollars I ever spent, although every one in hearing distance may disagree.

I hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Weekend Update

What a weekend...

Friday:  Coworker's wedding in Layton and hanging out with Dan and Mckell.
Taylor's new suit

Saturday:  Wake up at 7:00- drive in the CRAZY rain and snow all the way down to Provo for a sisters' and mom shopping trip. (RIDICULOUSLY FUN)  We shopped all day and refueled at In-n-Out.  It was a complete blast.  Adam (my bro-in-law) set the whole thing up for his Shala so that she could get some much needed shopping done. He stayed home all day and watched the kids. What a great guy!
Shala and my mom are going to kill me for putting this up.  But they still look so gorgeous!

Sunday: Finally home with the hubby.  We got some relaxation then headed to Taylor's parents' for some delicious Indian food that Taylor's sister Tia made.  It was so fun to hang out with all of Taylor's family.  After the family party we were able to go over and visit Taylor's grandma.  She lives in Brigham, which is only 30 minutes away, but it is amazing how difficult it can be to make it over there.  It was wonderful talking with her and some of Taylor's aunts and uncles.

So I know I am WAY behind the sock bun trend..  but Kristen just taught me how to do it.  I am in love.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week.  My week is flying by!

Say Cheese!

What a fun week so far! Lifetime TV was at my work on Friday filming some segments for a new TV show. The show takes a girl in Logan who is struggling with addictions and tries to help her become clean and achieve her goals.  Since the girl wants to be an Interior Designer when she graduates, Michele (my boss) agreed to allow her into our office and to mentor her.  I was thinking there would be one camera man and the host, but there were tons of people crammed in our office! My boss, who we all know hates going over the top, (see proof here) hired a makeup and hair artist to come and make us over. Oh what fun.
I wish I would have gotten an after picture,  my hair all soft and curly (I can never achieve this on my own).  Can I hire someone to come and do my hair and makeup every day?

These pictures aren't the best, you can't see most of the people, but we didn't want to be the giddy girls from Logan snapping pictures of all the LA'ers.   It was fun to have this experience and I truly hope the girl that will be working with us changes her life around!

Saturday my wonderful dad and I went to Rexburg to install some blinds my aunt had purchased from my work. It was so much fun to talk with my dad on the way up and back, it is rare that we get six hours of pure daddy daughter bonding time and I quite enjoyed it! It was also wonderful to see my aunt and grandparents.

When we were at my grandparents' house chatting in the living room, we heard a snap come from the kitchen. My grandma stopped mid sentence and said, "That was a mouse trap!" For those of you who don't know my grandma, she is completely and utterly afraid of mice. My childhood is filled with memories of people hiding fake mice in places where she would find them and hearing a shriek moments later.  My dad went into the kitchen to investigate and sure enough they had a mouse.  My grandpa sat there grinning for a little bit and finally said, "You think I ought to tell her?" My grandma insisted and my grandpa recounted the story of seeing a mouse out of the corner of his eye a few days earlier. He wasn't sure if it was a mouse or just a black spot in his eye,  but he didn't want to deal with my grandma getting him out of bed to go and get stuff for her and he didn't want to deal with her nerves for months! He snuck out of bed while she was sleeping that night and set all the traps to catch the mouse.  It was so endearing to see the tenderness in their relationship as he told this story.  I was laughing so hard about the whole situation.  You really won't appreciate this as much unless you know my grandparents, so this story is for you family!  You know g-ma is still fretting about this.

Yup... that's right, I have a picture of a dead mouse on my blog.

Ho Hum....

I know everyone has been DYING to see what a typical night is like in Spencerville.  Well here you have it.

There are few things I love more than making over-easy eggs with turkey bacon (about 100% tastier than regular bacon) and boiling water for hot cocoa in my Le Creuset tea kettle.  It has become nightly ritual that I love.

In other news... on Sunday I made Taylor a slipcover for his iPad so that it doesn't ruin his other case while it is in his backpack ..... so yeah... I made a case for a case.  Pretty intense!

And finally, Amanda, if you are reading this,  you better call me! It has been an unusually long time since we last saw you two and we aren't too happy about it.

Happy New Year

Hello, It's me again!  Here is a glimpse into our AMAZING holidays.  Enjoy!

Taylor snapped this picture of me when I was at my most swollen.  I look so out of it, and that is how I felt.  Ugh.  I am so glad that is over.

We went to The Leonardo with my siblings and had a blast.  There were tons of fun interactive exhibits.  I  was still pretty swollen so these pictures are pretty funny, I was trying to conceal my massive bulge on the side of my face.  I don't know why I even tried.

Can you find us!?

Can I just tell you how much I love my family? The best.
(thanks Adam for snapping the photo)

The newly engaged Daniel!

We went to Sam and Dallin Gunther's party in Provo to ring in the New Year!  Check out the bottom right of the TV..... that takes skill!

After the new years party at Dallin and Sam's we went and partied with the Kearns family in Draper.  They have got to be one of the most fun families I know!  It was awesome.  We played murder in the dark with... get this... night vision goggles.  Too bad it only took about 30 seconds for me to be found.  Worst murderer ever.

New Years Resolutions!

This is as far as I made it on my New Years Resolutions list, I spent too much time doodling at the top.... but this year I hope to do the following:

1- Organize the spare bedroom (this means pulling out my mounds of unfinished projects and finishing them!)

2- Paint more.

3- Try new things.

4- Become a better sewer.

5- Cook more.

6- Let more people in.

7- Go to bed earlier.
