A Little Bit of This and That

We recently went to Kneaders for the first time.  It was absolutely delicious.  Our food looked like it was right out of a magazine. YUM.

Kneaders also has pastries tempting you while you are waiting in line.  I saw this cannoli and my eyes popped out of my head. I have seen cannolis on the 100 episodes of Cake Boss that I watch, but I have never tried one.  It did not disappoint.  It was divine.

Below are some pictures of our typical Saturday night.  Taylor does the church programs each week, so every Saturday we bundle up, head to the church, print off 100 programs, fold them, shoot some hoops, and then head back home.

This week I was especially excited to do this so I could try out my new gloves.  I have to say, they are the best thing I have discovered in a LONG time.  Notice how the pointer and thumb are a different color?  This enables me to use touch screen devices while wearing them!  It is amazing.  I didn't think they were going to work very well, but I can't get enough of them.

This is the new valance I made for our kitchen.  I should have done this a while ago, our old one has been pinned up since we moved in three years ago.  This took less than 30 minutes to make and looks 100 times better than our old one.  I used an existing drapery panel that I bought for $10 at DownEast, cut it to the right size, sewed a hem and BOOM, a new valance.

It was Dan's 32nd bday this weekend!  We had a blast celebrating with him Friday AND Saturday.  It was a large party on Saturday, Derrick S. even showed up.  He is a gentleman and a scholar.  Cody and Stacy were up from Cedar City, they are such a fun couple to hang out with.  Move back to Brigham ASAP!

Okay, one last thing; sorry this post has been all over the place.  Taylor recently discovered  Ladies, you have to make your husbands check it out.  It is like Pinterest, but for men!  Taylor was as giddy as I was when I first found out about Pinterest, it was hilarious.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Family Tree

What a busy weekend. We were fortunate enough to hang out with Dallas and Andrea, Amanda and Colby, and Dan and Mckel!  I didn't work Monday and got so many things done.  Our landlords wanted to take pictures of our apartment for a website.  This forced me to really deep clean our place and I can't believe how amazing everything looks.

While deep cleaning, I ran across some childhood pictures.  SO many good memories! I had the best childhood ever.  I thought I would share a few.

Look at how adorable we were!  We look so happy.  Oh to be a child again.

It looks like I married the right man.  Who hasn't done this though, right?  Our parents probably hated that day.

My how we have grown!  The tree also. ...

I did a couple of DIY projects also, pictures to come!  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

What's that? You think the sofa would look great here? Me too, me too.

The weekend is finally here, and guess what, no work on Monday!  I don't know what I am going to do with myself.   Just kidding; like usual I have jam packed every minute of my free time.  Here is what I WON'T be doing - staged pictures for work. blah.

This week was especially brutal, I am going to soak up every minute of this weekend.  Starting with the Hennessy's coming over in an hour!  Chow!

A Look Into Our Lovers Day

Taylor and I had such an amazing Valentine's Day.  Taylor made reservations at Callaway's restaurant in Smithfield.  This is one of my favorite places to eat, it is so quaint and the food is delicious!

Taylor got tossed lasagna, of course, and I got this delicious dish I still don't know how to pronounce, gnocchi - basically it was pasta stuffed with potatoes.

Lindon (Taylor's new friend) serenaded us the whole evening with smooth jazz solos.  We were RIGHT by him, so naturally Taylor became his friend.  I love this place because it is so charming. It is the kind of place that serves delicious food and can charge quite a bit for it, but can get away with having ladders propped against the wall.

 I love our life.

I try not to gush about how awesome my husband is on our blog, but since it is Valentine's Day I am making an exception. It is hard to find words that describe how I feel about Taylor.  He is literally my other half,  I would be so lost without him.  When we first started dating it was like I was finally home.  Honestly. Nothing has ever felt so natural or wonderful as being with Taylor.  He makes me laugh everyday and brings me the greatest joy in life.  I am so grateful we found each other.  Taylor is the most amazing husband. I am so excited to spend forever with him.  I love you Taylor!

Side note:  For Valentine's Day Taylor got me the Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 software.  I was beyond excited.  I haven't had these programs on my computer forever.  I feel like I have the whole world at my fingertips!  There is nothing I can't do!  My goal is to become amazingly proficient in these programs. This goal has officially been added to my list of new year resolutions.

Group Date!

Saturday we had a blast bowling, going to Zeppe's and playing games with Colby, Amanda, Jaron and Kristen!

Hey Jaron and Kristen, move to Logan!  It's where cool people live.

My Apologies

I just realized that for the longest time I have had word verification if you want to post a comment.  ANNOYING.  It is now turned off.

My Apologies.

XOXO Shauna

New Favorite Products

Yesterday I had the best shopping trip with my gal Amanda. Highlights included:

Zupas (please Logan, get one soon!)

Below are my new favorite makeup finds!  I spent way too much money but it was worth it. My lips are red and my skin looks like it is airbrushed.  I am in love!

1. Amazonian Clay Tarte Foundation

I am so far from knowing anything about makeup, luckily the lady at Sephora pointed me in the direction of some much needed foundation.  My whole life I have been SUPER prone to breakouts and acne.  I have tried every kind of foundation, but nothing seems to stay on my face.  It literally melts off within an hour of me putting it on.  I kept this foundation on all night (disgusting I know) so that I could see if it really held up to it's 12-hour full coverage claim.  When I woke up this morning my face still looked baby smooth and It was not oily!  It is a little on the pricy side, but so worth it to finally have a foundation that stays on my face.

2. Lacome Paris Lipstick

I have been wary of the red lip trend.  Especially since I am blonde, I always felt like it made me look like a clown.  My boss gave me a large make-up kit from Nordstrom for Christmas, so I have been having fun experimenting with all the shades of lipstick.  I decided I didn't like the glossy red, the pinks or the corals.  They all just looked so silly and wore off within a matter of minutes.  After seeing multiple blondes with red lipstick I decided to give it a shot again.  This time I went with a matte finish,  I feel so much less like a clown AND it stays on forever.  I just ate an entire bowl of KiX and not a single bit of my Lancome lipstick is on the spoon!  My lips are still entirely red as well.  BUY THIS LIPSTICK.  Best investment.

my thoughts on the gym

1: I hate going
2: I hate untangling the cord to my headphones - the longer it takes, the longer it's been since I have gone to the gym, which means my workout is going to be brutal.
3: I am the only one there that is carrying their phone AND their iPod. I hate my phone. I've debated glueing my iPod to my phone and making an iPhone. Isn't that how it works?
4: I am finally geared up, headphones untangled, phone in one hand, iPod in the other. I walk out to the floor and there are no machines open!
5: If I am really unlucky it is free pizza day and they are serving it right next to the treadmills. My hour workout only takes care of about two bites worth of calories. Maybe it's job security for Planet Fitness - "Keep 'em fat and they'll keep hobblin' back." It's like the dentist giving you pixie sticks.

What keeps you going to the gym? Seriously I am curious...
