100% Combed Egyptian Cotton

Well, my root canal was a success!  I am baffled at how good I feel.  This picture was taken literally 45 minutes after my procedure.  I was slightly swollen but was still able to eat my entire Kabuki meal.  It was delicious.  I loved spending time with my mom and brother Kyle.  I hope I age as well as my mom, look how pretty she is!  Kyle's co-workers thought she was his sister.  Cute.
I am definitely going to Kabuki again with Taylor when our pocketbooks are feeling deep.  It is a hidden gem in Logan.  Check it out!

On a completely unrelated note, something really awesome happened.  One of my clients at work needed some advise on a conference table that they are having custom made.  I shot him an email with some inspiration pictures.  He owns a high end sheet company and so I asked him if I could get some pricing on a sheet set.  Since the sheets were originally $200 dollars I assumed I could get them around $100.  I have been so sick of our charcoal sheets showing every dried drool spot from Taylor and have been wanting something a little fresher for a while. Well, to my surprise he gave them to me for free!  600 tc 100% combed egyptian cotton.  Yeah baby!  It is honestly heaven. It is no 1000 tc but it feels like I am sleeping in a cloud.  These sheets are fully to blame for me sleeping in today.

Conference weekend is upon us!  We are looking forward to Spencer family pictures and a b-day party for my brother Kyle and nephew Robert. Taylor and I might even get a mini easter shoot with our friend Stacy.  Can't wait!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

I haven't shared one story about our granny neighbors since I posted about them back in August.  I think winter forced them to cuddle up in their moo moos and stay on their couches.  Warmer weather brings more frequent granny crossings.  Today I hadn't even shut the door after coming home from work before DeAnne was frantically ringing our doorbell (I was thrilled she was wearing jeans - well... loose jeggings).  I thought something was terribly wrong, I should have known better.   For some reason they are OBSESSED with the satellite dishes that are on top of our buildings.  There are about three satellite dishes attached to each side of our roof, NONE of them are being used. However, the grannies insist on asking us every two months if we are using them.  Then they call the satellite company and ask them to come take them down.  It is kind of cute; it is their only little battle they won't give up.

Speaking of obsessions.  Taylor has been looking into buying a mountain bike lately.  Don't worry we have spent every other night at Al's Sporting Goods eyeing the goods.  We went from WANTING to spend around $500 to HAVING to spend a lot more than that to get a bike that Taylor wants.  We should be investing in one within the next week or two. Taylor has already bought a bike rack for our car and some other gear.  It is more than adorable.  We also invested in two backpacks so we can go backpacking this summer!  Holla!

What have I been obsessed with lately?

1.  Egg Shaped Reeses's Peanut Buttercups (this always happens around this time of year)

2.  Brightly colored clothing.  Nothing too crazy.... but I bought this shirt from ASOS (oh how I love this site).  I am sure this is a fleeting moment of my inner spring wanting to come out, but never the less, I am obsessed.

On a duller note.  I get a root canal tomorrow.  That's right, another blasted root canal.  I am spoiling myself and taking the rest of the day off from work.  I plan on laying on the couch and catching up on my TV shows.

Catch Up!

Things have been so crazy around here lately!  I honestly feel like we never stop going.  Here are a few of the highlights that have happened over the past two weeks.  (I am so behind!!)

1.  Amanda threw a surprise party for her hubby Colby.  It was a huge success and a blast.

The after party included basketball at the church and a scary movie.
It's our boi Beach!  What a balla'!
2.  Taylor's side of the family has five birthdays in March!  We went down there last Sunday and had an awesome time.  I made the cake. It was the first time I tried frosting instead of fondant. IT WAS SO DIFFICULT.  By the time I got to the second level I gave up on the frosting and slapped some fondant on.  (shout out to Audrey- any tips??)  Overall it turned out pretty well. The party was so much fun.  I always love getting together with family.

I added a topper and it really completed the look.
3.  Bowling fun in Ogden!

4.  Shopping trip in SLC with Shala, my mom and Jessica.  Why did we not take any pictures??  Next time!
5.  Breakfast at Herm's Inn.  This place is the bomb.  Our breakfast was delicious.  Best part is they open at 7 a.m. every morning so you can sneak in there before the daily grind.  After breakfast we explored the  hobbit caves  up in Logan Canyon, grabbed some Slurpees and played ball at the church.
This was right after breakfast... so I have minimal makeup on.  ugh.
6.  Dan (Taylor's BFF) got his endowments taken out on Saturday in preparation for his marriage in a few weeks!  It was such a special day and we were so glad we could go.

Well there you have it, a very scattered and random post.

An Answer to Your Burning Questions.

I have been in a serious blogging slump lately! I guess we have been too busy having too much fun. My great friend Courtney filled out these questions and tagged me at the end. While her answers are much better, here I go!

here are the rules:

1. post these rules.

2. post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.

3. answer the questions set for you in the original post.

4. create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.

5. go to their blog and tell them they've been tagged.

And we're off!

2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things. I decided to post 11 random photos from our trips this summers since I never blogged about them!

3. Now for the questions!

1. On a sunny day, I want nothing more than to lay on the lawn or by the pool (preferably sipping a soda).

2. I blog for documentation and to share my life with friends and family (boring but true).

3. I settle my frustration by working out! I run until I am not thinking about work anymore. I also bite my nails a ton :( don't tell anyone.

4. Maybe it is because I just posted all those vacation pics. But my perfect day would be playing around on Canon Beach with Taylor. It was like a dream!

5. When I dream of vacations, I dream of being on a Mediterranean Cruise. Hands down.

6. My ideal job would be having my own Interior design firm in a city I love, with clients that have virtually no budget and will let me do my job and be as creative as I want to be.

7. I cannot stand when people chew loudly and when Taylor farts in our bed.

8. I could watch Sleepless In Seattle everyday, I also LOVE the 5 hour A&E Pride and Prejudice.

9. The thing I fear most is losing Taylor.

10. I cannot count the number of times I have stayed overnight in a hospital, but not as a patient :) I was busy working graves in the ER.

11. "In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer." - Albert Camus

4. I want to hear from you: Kristen, Shala, Audrey and Kara/Val!

1. What is your favorite song on your iPod?

2. The power to fly, or, be invincible. Why?

3. What is your least favorite mode of transportation?

4. Why do you blog?

5. Where do you want to be in 5 years? 10 years?

6. What food/beverage could you never live without?

7. What is your dream vacation?

8. What is your greatest fear?

9. What is your favorite quote?

10. If you had to change your first name, what would it be?

11. What is your greatest joy in life?

Well there it is! I don't know if I did it right or not. But I finally blogged again!

Love and Longevity

It is my grandparents 50th anniversary this year.   My mom sent me this picture and it melted my heart.  Aren't they so cute?!
